17th European Youth Parliament for Water

Call for Youth Engagement (Deadline: 30 May, 12am CEST)

20-26 September, 2026, Strasbourg-Freiburg-Basel

Eine Welt Netz NRW is proud to be partner in the 17th European Youth Parliament for Water. We’re now looking for young people interested in the topic of sustainable water usage and active citizenship to join a transnational youth project.

Are you passionate about water governance, transboundary cooperation, and the future of Europe’s river basins? Do you want to have a real say in how our watersheds are governed? This is your chance!

The European Youth Parliament for Water (EYPW), launched in 1998 in Espalion, France by Solidarity Water Europe, engages young people in water and environmental issues by increasing their understanding of water resource management and promoting active citizenship. More than sixty young Europeans and partners will gather in the Upper Rhine Region from September 20 to 26, 2026. Organized with its local partner, the Collectivité européenne d’Alsace (CeA), the 17th edition of the EYPW will place transboundary river basin governance at the very heart of its programme under the theme “Uniting beyond borders, sectors, and generations for sustainable river basin governance”.

Since 1998, the European Youth Parliaments for Water are taking action for inclusive water management and governance throughout Europe. Focused on the roles and responsibilities of European youth in managing water, the 17th Parliament will bring together young participants from across Europe’s river basins. The initiative aims to empower European youth by deepening their understanding of transboundary river basin governance and strengthening their ability to become active citizens of their own river basin. By adopting local, transboundary, and pan-European perspectives, Solidary Water Europe supports young water actors in developing a collective vision for water rooted in shared values and objectives. The goal is to ensure that youth have a tangible influence on water governance at the river basin level.

  • Develop a shared European Vision for river basins
  • Gain knowledge and skills to be an active citizen of your own river basin
  • Join the youth for water movement in Europe

We are looking for you!
